Do You Need Hearing Aid Batteries? Pearl Feder Wants to Help You

When Lipreading Mom received this email from Pearl Feder, who is active in hearing loss advocacy, I couldn’t believe my eyes…

“If you or someone you know is in need of hearing aid batteries, please let me know by emailing me at pearltf1@gmail.com. Every year around the holidays, I give out hearing aid batteries to those who are in need of them. Hard to believe but there are people who cannot even afford batteries. All names are confidential and will never be posted anywhere.

“Please forward them my email address. No questions asked. This is on an honor system. I need to know the size batteries they use and their address. That’s it.” -Pearl

I was so impressed by Pearl’s generous offer that I contacted her to clarify. Yes, she told me, the offer is for real.

Tears welled in my eyes as I thought, ‘What a generous act of kindness.’

So, there you have it… If you or someone you know needs hearing aid batteries, please contact Pearl with the requested information, and she will happily help you.

I couldn’t end my email conversations with Pearl without asking her to send me her photo for SHOW ME YOUR EARS. She sent me this picture, which includes her hearing bird, Scooter. Pearl writes, “Scooter actually tells me when someone is at the door.”

Thank you, Pearl and Scooter the hearing bird, for your kind hearts and for SHOWING ME YOUR EARS!

  2. Found this through Pearl’s facebook. This act of generosity is just one of many for her – she’s the most kindhearted selfless person and friend anyone could ask for – and it’s a great idea!
